Local Organisation Committee of the EASM2025 conference is set up

The Local Organisation Committee (LOC) of the EASM2025 conference to be held at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) in Budapest next September has started operations at full speed. The LOC includes several teachers and professionals from the university.

The EASM2025 conference titled “Sustainability in Sports Management” will be held in Budapest between 2 and 5 September. The event will be hosted by Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF), which is to celebrate its 100th anniversary next year. The large-scale event, which is expected to attract 500 participants, is a joint event of the university and the European Association for Sports Management (EASM).

EASM is a prestigious organisation, the European representative of the world governing body, bringing together a number of eminent sports scientists and professionals. Bringing the conference to TF is a great honour not only for the university representatives, but also for Hungarian sport.

The EASM conference it is also a unique opportunity for the university to showcase its know-how, facilities and hospitality for the international sports management audience.  

An important step in the organisation of the event was the set-up of the Local Organisation Committee (LOC) that consists of five members who work at the Hungarian University of Sports Science.

Scientific Director of the conference Professor Gábor Géczi is the Director of the Institute of Economic and Social Sciences and the Technology and Knowledge Transfer Centre and at the Hungarian University of Sports Science and the Head of the Department of Sport Management. Among many things, his field of expertise is sports science and health science, primarily sports management, sports theory and practice, especially ice hockey, as well as event and facility management. Operational DirectorDr Erika Kendelényi-Gulyás has had the opportunity to participate in several national and international research projects over the past 10 years. Event OrganizerPolett Hadusfalvy is a full-time event organiser at the Hungarian University of Sports Science. She acted as an organiser of the Volunteer Programme for the 2023 World Athletics Championships held in Budapest, and her field of expertise includes organising larger scale events at the university. Student seminar referent Dr Gergely Géczi’s special area of interest is complex systems, complexity in sport and game sense. Head of the Communication of the EASM 2025 conference is Dániel Mezei, who is also the Head of the Communication and Events Directorate at the Hungarian University of Sports Science. He is specialised in communications, event organisation with public relations particularly as well as brand development, and he has worked as a sports commentator for more than 30 years. The LOC has already held meetings, the members of which have discussed several important issues including the set-up of the home page of the event, communications-related issues and distribution of tasks as well as responsibilities.
