The Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) plays a prominent role in Hungary and internationally through its research, education, and development in the field of sports and physical education. The university regularly organizes domestic and international professional conferences aimed at bringing together scientists, educators, and professionals to promote sports sciences, physical education, and healthy lifestyles.
One of the institution’s most important scientific events, if not the most important, is the Sports and Innovation Conference, which has been held seven times at the university so far. The event aims to encourage the realization and innovation of new creative ideas, as well as to present the latest sports innovations to both the sports professionals and the general public. The conference, organized by the university in collaboration with the National Handball Academy, was attended by over a thousand people in both 2023 and 2024, respectively.

Last year the 54th edition of the Kinesiology Conference was held at the university, which is a joint event of several important domestic organizations. This high-level scientific gathering discusses important topics such as movement, the main factors of health preservation, primary and secondary prevention, and the role of physical exercise in preventing civilization diseases.
The Hungarian Society of Sport Sciences, its Sport Management Committee, and the Hungarian University of Sports Science have been organizing the Mihály Nyerges Memorial Conference for 15 years, during which experts analyze the major Hungarian sports achievements of the year.
The Tamás Sárközy Sports Law Conference, which also honours Dr Tamás Sárközy, former president of the Hungarian Lawyers’ Association, the rector’s former advisor, discusses the most pressing and important issues of sports law with the participation of experts.
Although the international biomechanics symposium has only been held twice at the university, it has already attracted significant international interest. Last year’s event, with 300 participants, focused on the role of artificial intelligence in sports and health sciences.

In 2023, the university hosted the 1st Active Lifestyle Conference, which focused on active lifestyles and the presentation of the upcoming Active Lifestyle Strategy named after Sarolta Monspart.
Equally important scientific events, primarily organized for students, include the Sports Science PhD Symposium, the International Scientific Student Conference, and the nearly forty-year-old National Scientific Student Conference, the Physical Education and Sports Science Section of which has been held at the university six times so far.
Many prestigious international organizations have held conferences at HUSS, among which stands out the European Association for Sociology of Sport (EASS) Annual Conference in 2023, where more than 120 researchers and PhD students from over 50 European universities enjoyed the hospitality of our university. Also in 2023, alongside the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, the World Athletics organized an international scientific and medical conference at the university.
In addition, the Hungarian Football Federation, the Hungarian Swimming Federation, and the Hungarian Wrestling Federation have also organized professional conferences at the university.
