Students will plant trees at the seminar

ByEszter 15 August 202515 August 2025

In the spirit of sustainability, which is also one of the main themes of the EASM2025 conference, the organizers will plant three trees at the venue of the student seminar, the Water Sports and Recreation Centre of Hungarian University of Sports Science in Velence.

On September 1, during the student seminar of the EASM2025 conference, three trees will be planted at the seminar venue, located at TF’s Water Sports and Recreation Centre in Velence – once again, reflecting the commitment to sustainability.

Tree planting is not unfamiliar to the event’s host, the Hungarian University of Sports Science. As part of the university’s programme series celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2025, the institution organized a symbolic event last November, during which it planted one hundred trees along the road leading to its Velence site.

The three new trees will find a perfect home at the university’s Velence campus, further enriching the area with greenery.

Three interesting facts about trees:

• A single mature tree can absorb about 22 kg of carbon dioxide annually, and up to 1 ton over its lifetime, making a significant contribution to the fight against climate change.

• It also produces about 118 kg of oxygen each year, which covers approximately half of one person’s annual oxygen needs.

• In urban environments, trees play a vital role in regulating the microclimate, as they can reduce surrounding temperatures by 2–8 °C through shading and transpiration.
